چکیده
This work was conducted on the use of RE (radicle emergence) test to estimate seedling emergence (SE) and quality (seedling shoot weight (SSW), root (SRW) height (SH)) twelve hybrid cucumber seed lots with high germination (>95%) at low temperature conditions, salt conditions a combination two. The percentages RE, which is 2 mm radicle protrusion 25 °C in dark, were counted between 18 h 32 h. seeds sown peat moss trays kept 15 (low stress), or salty water applied as 100 mM NaCl (salt stress) for three days, both combined-stress environment. Seedling parameters reduced by stress environments their combination. SE, SSW, SRW SH values ranged between: 91–100%, 614–844 mg, 102–143 6.8–8.8 cm temperature; 90–98%, 598–904 101–154 6.5–7.8 stress; 76–92%, 464–608 97–133 5.8–6.9 great differences seen among (20–28 h) regressed values. 24 had highest R2 significant all = 0.596–0.858, p < 0.05–0.001 0.620–0.827, salt; 0.686–0.842, combined stresses. We concluded that vigour can be used successfully highly germinating lots. Use its influence high-quality production discussed.

Influence of salicylic acid pre-treatment on emergence and early seedling growth of cucumber (Cucumis sativus)under salt stress
Salicylic acid (SA) is a common, plant-produced signal molecule that is responsible for inducing tolerance to a number of biotic and abiotic stresses. An experiment was therefore conducted to test whether the application of SA at various concentrations (0, 0.25, 0.50 or 1.0 mM) through a seed-soaking method would protect cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) seedlings subjected to salt stress. Aft...
متن کاملAlleviation of salt stress-induced inhibition of seed germination in cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) by ethylene and glutamate.
Ethylene is an important plant gas hormone, and the amino acid Glu is emerging as a messenger molecule in plants. To evaluate the role of ethylene and Glu in seed germination and radicle growth under salt stress, effects of 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC), Ethephon and Glu on germination and radicle growth of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) seeds in the absence and presence of 200 mM ...
متن کاملRegulation of Mitochondrial Function and Biogenesis in Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) Cotyledons during Early Seedling Growth.
The aim of this work was to characterize the respiratory metabolism of the greening cotyledons of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) during early seedling growth and to investigate how this is integrated with changes in mitochondrial biogenesis and function. In light-grown cotyledons, lipid mobilization extended from germination to 6 days postimbibition, reaching a maximum at 3 to 4 days postimbibit...
